La Vaca Atada

A franchise brand built to grow store by store

The challenge

La Vaca Atada was born as an Argentinian street food franchise with a twofold challenge: it needed a brand with its own character in a sector full of similar offers, and that brand had to work equally well in every outlet, run by different franchisees and covering a wide variety of products and formats.

The name already came with a story. ‘Tener la vaca atada’ (literally, ‘having the cow tied up’) is one of the most common expressions in Argentina. It comes from the wealthy families who sailed to Europe with a cow in the ship’s hold so their children would never be short of fresh milk. Over time, it came to mean having your next meal secured.
